What have you done to reduce carbon emissions?

Question

I want to talk at my daughters school to tell them to take the message home to their parents. This is a multi-cultural society and non-english speaking parents continue to live in their ignorance. We must get their children to pass the message to on to them. What suggestions are there out there? What have you done? Can you believe some people still hose their immaculate driveways every single day? When I say something they reply "Is my house, is my business." What do you say?

carbon emisions is only part of the picture
there is potable water supplies ,(hosing ones driveway everyday is a blatant demostration of exatravagance and an egoistic behaviour)

there is carbon absorbsion on the solution side ,
there is global climate to considder ,and food production (overpopulation)
this is what i have to say and what i have done


I am already working with the Environment for 30 years
i talk to school kids about the Environment ,(in Spanish)

and to Farmers about water harvesting ,soil conservation ,organic ,and chemical free farming,and reforrestation

I commute to school, for a start.

Also, instead of using a dryer for my clothes, I hang them on a clothes line and let them dry outside.

I say write a letter to your congress man or local government officials about making more restrictions or education about carbon emissions. Enough letters will promote a change.

I try to decrease my flatuence level as much as I can, without lighting any blue flames at the time. I have cut back on beans, McDonald's burgers, and Veggie Food as much as possible.
Still, I singe the bedroom walls, and can't help it.
With luck, some day I will turn into a Goodyear blimp and transcend skyward to contribute to the Ozone Hole.

it takes quite a few major catastrafes for people to catch on but some people they learn nothing if you try to change your ways people really hastle you even thought you know its the right desision the only thing i can do is try to make an impact at home and in my comunity belive me im really trying im sick of these bad people comeing to my house trying to convince me to stay dependant on forgien energy and destroy habitat the past couple of years ive recycled enough garbage from the environment were ever i go to eaisly fill a semi and i dont think its funny at all i changed out light bulbs ive put in switch plate gaskets ive insulated in some areas that needed it calked im saving areas in the yard to create a biological buffer filtration strip even thought industry is pukeing belching and purgeing stuff i saw a huge brown cloud over one of the great lakes today and our mayor has cancer do you think there going to make our park actually look like a park there is a lot of people that have cancer in the area the people who are in charge of parks churches colleges schools and business and everything else inbetween all barren grass land instead of bushes wildflowers and trees the only ones that have caught on is the mouther house and thats what i want my yard to look like and it should there was a day i wanted to be like the other people right in the wrong direction and one day i reflected after destroying what who ever you choose to call god had planted and knew i had to reverse my neibor hood is cleaner but some people they dont understand they would rather git a dumpster and hack down the environment they dont git it there is like a big area next to the house and the people call it a park there could be like a few trails in there and let it turn back to habitat but no they would rather have 6 hours of mowing how much carbon does that create all just a barren grassland you dont see many animals there how long untill people want to change maybee another 9 miles of glacier has to drop off maybee somemore stinky water areas need to be restored the right way some people want to give up and not help out at all but if i give up how can i be a good influence and how will they learn in the college they have fake plants all over but very little real plants they spray chemicals all over and there is second hand smoke all over why go the govt buildings barren grassland the library barren grassland we git thousands of guests to our state park then the people bring there city ways to the park dont recycle anything unless they take it home when i went to the national forest i saw no recycle bins there why do you want a golf course in the deep forest that looks like seconds ago a dinasour could have just romed thru it would be nice if people did not cut down the flowers bushes and trees i plant poision them and the people would stop litter ing right after i pick it all up only a small percent has to mess it up but i belive if recycleing was implimented everywere only a few people would mess it up but most would recycle they dont even recycle at the ymca shows how much everyone cares at least when a volcano comes it will make everything new again but that aint a good enough excuse to not care there is no were i can go i dont see recycleables that need to be seperated and recycled it would take like a gueness book of records recycle bins for all the reusable materials in the environment

Instead of calling other parents "ignorant," how about you start spending your time teaching them English?

put more efficient insulation in the walls, more energy efficient windows, doors, lights, appliances and limiting wastes by recycling.
