It depends on the manner it was written off. If it was a hail write-off, you likely only need a safety inspection. If it was a collision, then it depends on the rating. If it was salvageable, you need a body integrity inspection as well as a safety inspection. It it was deemed irreparable, or parts only, it cannot be registered or reinsured anywhere in the US or Canada. I presume if you kept it, it was hail, theft, or salvageable collision.

Just get a safety check and take it to your insurance.
