I'm 6'1 and 185lbs. I'm not fat, just getting a bit of a gut and I'd like to lose about 10 pounds. I'm going on vacation in June, so ideally getting rid of it by then would be best.

I've been starting to eat relatively healthy and stuff, but I need some advice. I'm trying, but I'm 100% Italian so cutting carbs (pasta) isn't easy. Any advice is appreciated.

Personally, I don't think cutting carbs or fat out of your diet completely is healthy. Try moderation in everything and just some basic exercise and I would think 10lbs by June would be quite easy for you. Hope you have a great vacation and good luck in your new life style...ie healthy eating and exercise.

I've found when we want something badly enough, we find a way to get it or acheive it. If you don't want to stop eating pasta, then don't...just keep your calorie intake to a level low enough that when combined with some exercise, you can lose the weight.

Look here http://www.freedieting.com/tools/ideal_body_weight.htm for a calculator that will help you determine what your calorie intake should be (per day) at what activity level for maintenance or to lose weight.

Eat right, workout 5x a week, and you could easily drop those 10 pounds by the end of the month.

Good luck!

Sorry buddy, if you are not going to start excising cutting carbs is your only hope. From now until June?

Cutting your carbs to 72 grams a day will drop you more than 10 pounds by June, maybe even 20 if you walk 30 minutes a day 3 or 4 times a week.

good luck,.

To loose 10 LB you will have to cut back on the pasta. Carbs tent to store themselves in the abdominal area. If your problem is only your gut, some good crunches in the morning and at night will do the trick .
100 each time .

Good Luck

Stop eating sugar in all forms. Corn syrup, high fructose syrup (just about anything with -ose) and stay away from artificial sweetners. No pop! Lots of veggies, such as celery, peppers, cabbage, etc. Carrots and tomatoes are high in natural sugars, so not too many of them.

To help your shape, do a variety of back and stomach excercises. Not to many, just 5 reps of 10 different excercises. The ones where you lie on your back, knees up, one ankle resting on the opposite knee and you bring the opposite elbow to the elevated knee work great for the sides.

Good luck!

Try walking or bike riding 3-5 nights a week. You'll have to get your heart rate up, so walk fast. Aerobics is good too. I've recently started and lost 13 lbs in 1 1/2 months! Good Luck!!
