Catholics believe suicide when committed in full knowledge and deliberate consent is a complete turning away from God (a mortal sin) and will send a person to hell.

There are 3 conditions of a mortal sin: grave matter, full knowledge, and deliberate consent.

While suicide (or any kind of murder) is always a grave matter, people who commit suicide may not always have full knowledge of what they're doing. Drugs can definitely impair one's thinking, as can other things, such as diseases, intense pain, or anguish.

Therefore, suicide is not automatically treated as a mortal sin.

We are commanded by Christ not to judge others so we leave final judgment to God who alone knows each person's heart.

With love in Christ.

The Bible has several instances of people committing suicide and it doesn't make a judgment about them taking that course of action, it only chronicles the circumstances involved. But it can reasonably be shown that a person who commits suicide due to depression or some other mental state is dying of their illness.

It isn't in God's will for people to despair and to terminate their lives because of lack of hope and trust in Him. God wouldn't be "disappointed" because one has to have expectations that are not met in order to be disappointed and God already knows the future. But as a Christian counselor I can tell you that God loves you and He doesn't want you to lose hope and be overwhelmed by circumstances and take your own life. He wants a person who is contemplating suicide to turn to Him and seek help through the body of Christ and through any medical means that might alleviate their suffering so that they can continue to glorify and serve Him here on earth.

I can only say on suicide what my Bible tells me, Its a sin where there is no forgiveness for. It is self-murder and I know God never meant to create someone for them to take there own life.
Yes I feel God would be very disappointed with anyone who thinks
or trys to commit such a sin. Life was meant to be Living not Taken.

I cannot speak for God --- I can only share with you my own understanding of what suicide is...

to me it could be considered "self murder."
"You shall not murder." Exodus 20:13

to me, it would seem like a total desecration of something belonging to God...

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own" 1 Corinthians 6:19

I would never judge someone who has committed suicide, however -
given the fact that I believe God has a wonderful plan and purpose for each of our lives, I think it would be a shame for us to interfere with his good will

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11(NIV)

Hard question. There is a HUGE debate about this. Some say that people who do it go to heaven. Because they have gone against the ten commandments. Personally I know a graceful loving God so I think that he would be dissapointed yes. Becvause of what you are doing to your body and other people But not enough to sned you to hell. I firmily believe that the only unforgivabke sin is not believing and Jesus death covered all sin A heap of Christians have depression and It is soo eassy to forget about the hope that Christians have. I hope that you are not considering this option. God Bless and keep hope

Suicide is an automatic ticket to hell, no what the reason is behind it. Satan, not God, wants people to commit suicide.

The Christian God? Who gives a ****? He's jealous and cruel.

The Universal Consciousness embedded in everything? I believe it would be sad, probably, to lose one of the thought-giving life forms that make it up. I believe that if you really want to die, you'll die. If you have second thoughts, you'll be reborn. Or wake up. Who knows.
