Hi Kimberly
i agree with you. The greatest thing is to love and being loved in return.
but to love and haven't been loved back :) may just bring out the ugliest thing(s) for that one scorned - jealousy(not my thing), insecurities, lowered self-esteem, bitterness may arise instead.
Anyway, nice people like you and maybe me =) could keep this world turning.

The greatest thing in life toast. Nothing is bad when you've got toast. No major wars were caused by toast. Nobody ever had their life ruined by toast. To spend a few minutes of your life in the quiet tranquility that is a nice piece of toast and a cup of tea is simply the greatest thing in life. One should learn the importance of little things such as toast. When some day in the future you are married and your partner comes in from a hard day at work and you have prepared a nice slice of toast and a steaming cup of tea, he/she will look deep into your eyes and say thank you. When you return their gaze and look back in to their eyes you will know what true love is.

The greatest desire in life, I believe, is to be loved completely and to love completely in return. It does not seem to exist, as we cannot help but be selfish at times. This means that there is no perfect love and therefore no perfect happiness. Regardless, we desire it an incredible amount. Religions appear to offer this and people pursue it like neddy p's toast!
Children are amazing creatures. They appear to love you almost without exception. And those exceptions are easily overlooked. We, in turn, love them stronger sometimes than any other. And, we never want them to grow up, because we know that the love will never be the same as when they are young. Their attentions will soon be turned towards finding that "other" person to love...
I hope that you find the happiness you're looking for!

I agree, the greatest thing is love. My fiancee and I just got engaged and have been together for 5 years. We have gone through ups and downs emotionally, financially, etc. Love gets you through so much. Loving someone makes you want to be a better person for not only yourself but someone else. After a bad day there is always that person to tell you it's ok and to love you for exactly what you are.

Hi! Well that for ME is at least the closest thing ~ though there may be others going by what YOU feel is the greatest thing.
I guess it's all in the ball court of the experiences for each and every individual!

I agree with that song, but from a slightly different viewpoint. We have been loved from the beginning by our Creator God. The greatest thing is accepting that love and returning it to God, knowing that He will prepare a place in heaven for every believer.

I do have a different opinion. The greatest thing in life is life itself, without which nothing, not even love, can hold a meaning.

I agree with that song. I also think that children are the greatest things in life. The product of that love. They make you happy, bring peace into your life.
