I wonder the same thing myself, we are no different then people without them other then the fact that we choose to put art that we enjoy on our bodies, I think it is because people fear things that they don't understand and choose to be judgmental....sucks but its life there will always be stereotypes.....

I guess as each question comes new they are posted in a general page so all categories are listed. I don't think for the most part they come here just to do this. However, I think it is harassment if the person is asking a question about tattooing, not for an opinion OF tattoos, and they get that sort of answer. It would be as bad as if someone was asking how well minoxidil works and I responded with ..ewwwww...I hate bald people. Seriously. I would and do report the answer. If a couple people do this, the answer will be eliminated. Just like those stupid spam answers selling skin stuff and nikes.

I have a real issue w/ Tattoos. It is totally introspective,.. I can not, for the life of me begin to imagine how someone could COMMIT to something to the extent that they would be willing to have it permanently inked into their skin!! When you boil it all down what I REALLY have more of a problem with is COMMITMENT. Since this is such a fundamental issue with me, I experience a "rational breakdown" when I encounter someone with tattoos, or considering being tattooed.
I would NEVER criticize ANYONE for having tattoos, BUT I would "sound all alarms" & sit down for a long heart to heart talk with any friend or acquaintance considering getting a tattoo for the first time. ESPECIALLY if they were young, (teens to mid-20's). I just don't feel that many of them REALLY know where they are going in life during this time and inking a tattoo on the arm or up on the neck at this age is foolhardy and indicates a lack of fundamental judgement.
I have to admit that if I were in the position to hire employees, with all else being the same, I'd definitely give preference to the NON-TATOOED candidate.
There may be a few out there that "hate" the tattooed folks,... I really think that the real issue is that the rest of us just can't make sense of it.
That's all,
RH

I don't know. Well, the reason I don't like tattoos and would never get one for myself is because I change my mind so often that I could never be satisfied with the same tattoo on my body for the rest of my life. I guess people think that one day the person with a tattoo is going to change their mind about the art they have put on their body. Maybe that's why they don't accept it.

Thats kind of a general statement ......Not everybody hates tattoos. As the older generation that associated tattoos and tattooing with outlaws, criminals and riff-raff dies out they are being replace with people who are at least more tolerant of tattoos. Now it is not uncommon to find judges, police officers, doctors and yes even Ministers with tattoos. What you are witnessing here in answers and in other on-line forums is not a good indicator of the way society in general feels. Now that the "Hollywood" crowd has discovered the pleasures of ink, more and more people will be drawn to tattoos aping their favorite stars. It is my belief that in 10 to 20 years.....You will be able to walk around with your complete body covered in ink and no one will blink an eye ....because tattoos will be so common and everyday that nobody will notice your ink (which is sad in a way)

because some people can be closed minded, and scared of things that are out of the ordinary. and then sometimes, people just do not like the design of the tattoo.

There's been a stigma attached to them for a while, and a lot of people are ignorant and think that you're going to get hep. c no matter what if you get a tattoo.

I detest tattoos because it is primitive, pagan and tribal looking.
The tattoos you have done in your 20's will you be just as proud when you are 60.

If the person is too morally educated, she/he will think that we should be happy with the way God made us.
