When is the best time to go to NYC and what should I do while I'm there?

I'm just trying to plan a trip hopefully sometime in May or June, any ideas?

I have gone in late June and the weather is not unbearable like it can be in July or August. Things to do: walk around Central Park, go to Metropolitan Museum of Art, go to the top of the Empire State Building, ride the Circle Line boat tour around Manhattan, go to Greenwich Village, and of course, see a Broadway play. A few years ago, I bought a day long (24 hour) pass on the Grey Line tour which has double-decker busses. They go all around the city and you can get off and check out the area and then catch the next Grey Line bus that comes along. It is a great way to see the city when you get tired of walking.

Don't go in June. Summer in NYC sucks. It is more crowded than usual and it is very humid and uncomfortable. Early spring and fall are best times. If it is a mild winter it is not bad either. But a lot of people visit NYC during the winter as well so some of the tourist areas will be more crowded as well. I'd say the fall months are the best time. So think September, October, and early November.

Go to central park, it is huge and there are so many great sights in there. You can also visit the many different museums, the met, museum of natural history, etc.

Bronx Zoo is fantastic as well if you want to venture that far. There is a zoo in central park but it is not as nice as Bronx Zoo.

u should probably come during the spring instead of during the summer cause it can get pretty hot here. i suggest during spring break cause theres like lots of things going on but may or june sounds good also if u're not bothered by the weather or something.
