To keep relatively healthy then take care with what you expose your body to. Stay away from people with colds as much as is possible. You can go to your doctor and get a flu injection that should stop you from catching the most common form of flu for that season. As illness is a result of an inbalance between good bacteria and bad bacteria make sure that you are eating well (lots of greens but a balanced diet), exercising some and avoiding over processed foods (especially those from food outlets that tend to be prepared in less than hygenic circumstances). Acidophilus yoghurt is a good source of good bacteria. Most of all make sure that you are not overworked. Stress is one of the main things that makes your immune system poor and therefore leaves you susceptible to infection. Take care of yourself physically and mentally. Best of luck, I understand how frustrating a poor immune system can be.

Definately wash hands a lot. More diseases and illnesses are transmitted by hands than any other way.
Also; I always keep a window or two cracked open and allow fresh air in during the winter. (I live in Northen Michigan). I never get the Flu, and very rarely a Cold as opposed to years and years ago, when living in a house with all windows shut tight. I think the exchange of fresh air during winter is important, and I keep my home cooler rather than warm (at 68 degrees tops) during the Winter and I tolerate it well.
Stuffy warm houses in the winter are the breeding grounds for illness in my opinion.

this might sound alittle nutty but when i walk past someone who sneezes or coughs i close my eyes (or at least look down as much as possible so they r closed as much as possible) and dont breathe in either. i think germs can enter our bodies that way, so i try to avoid letting them enter me that way when they r right near me. also, if u go out for a meal, be sure to use a straw and have the server leave the paper on it. dont let them put fruit in your drink (cuz they probably are using their dirty germy hands from touching money and used dishes, silverware and glasses). also, Echinechea seems to help too (that is an herb you can find in walmart or drug stores). u can take it every day or take it when u start to feel a cold coming on. i have been lucky and usually get sick once or twice a year and im a server so i think thats pretty good considering all the germs i touch. also, if i feel a cold or something coming on, i will take nyquil right away the first night and see how it goes after that. plus, all the other good things the other people r suggesting to u such as washing your hands alot etc. DONT put your fingers in your eyes, mouth or ears or ahem, nose, unless you wash your hands first! good health to you :)

The #1 thing to do is wash your hands. Then eat well, get plenty of sleep, and take a multi-vitamin. You might also want to see your doctor if you keep getting sick as it could be a sign of an underlying problem.
I've also been told by my grandma that there is a "chemicial" (I'm not really sure what it is) in homemade chaicken noodle soup that promotes wellness. Not sure if it's true for everyone but it's always worked for me.

Do exercise and eat healthily. Keep warm when it is cold, always wash your hands properly to avoid germs, sleep for at least 8 hours a day and stay properly hydrated (2L of water a day).
Take a multi vitamin, this may also help.
