Left over steak, uncooked honey garlic chicken wings, stir fry... It's all fair game to me when I am home and want something to eat.

Why do I always want to eat such heavy foods when I should probably be sleeping? It's like I can't sleep without it.

Maybe you are used to eating heavy meals before you sleep, and now your body thinks that you need those foods to sleep all the time!

This is fairly common, like having to have a glass of water or milk, etc. before you feel like you can go to sleep!

I suggest that if this is annoying you that you eat smaller and smaller amounts of these foods before bed, and pretty soon, you will have broken the habit!

Hope this helps!

Your body is used to eating those foods so it craves them.

Make sure that you have a healthy snack about 2 hours before you go to bed. I have been doing this and I do not wake up in the middle of the night hungry. Some of the things that I have been eating are almonds (no salt or anything else added to them), dried fruit, a bowl of raisin bran. For me the best snack is the almonds and dried fruit.

Also make sure that you drink plenty of water all day long.

Maybe because that you have an obsession with those foods that you feel the need to eat the foods that you like. That is probably the most likely reason.

Maybe your bored, or don't know how to relax before you go to sleep so you eat to relax. Maybe you want a full belly before you go to sleep. Either way it's unhealthy and you really shouldn't eat heavy foods like that before going to sleep.

I think it has to do with the alcohol. I can't explain it, but I get the same way after drinking, and it's late night. Maybe it's the same for people who go to Denny's, or the local diner after a night of clubbing, and drinking....?
