I'm finding myself lost and caught up in the rediculousness of adolescence. Lmao.
I feel lost when everyone is dying to grow up and i feel just fine the way i am, i want to wear heels and makeup but i also sleep with a teddy bear and prefer tag over gossip. I guess what i'm trying to say is how old is teen?
How old is old enough to date, wear heels, and makeup and it's normal. I feel like everybody 10-14 thinks 11 up is "teen" but the rest of the world thinks 15. Should i stop stressing and just have fun if that means have a middle school bf, or stick with my guts and say thats shallow even if you sorta kinda want to. Has anyone else been throgh this?

Thankyou so much for your great answers. I feel so much better and talked to my daddy about it and i decided i was kinda depressed, i was regretting 13 because i didt want to fall into those groups that people automatically assume youre a reckless teenager just cuz my numbers are different but im still me! lmao But now i can't wait to turn 13 cuz i guess i can still be just me.
Thankyou again you guys are great.

It is quite refreshing to find a young person who feels that way.
This about it this way: How often do you get to be a teenager? Once. How long do you get to be a teenager? It is the shortest time period of your life, save for being a baby.
So really then, why would you want to grow up? Trust me, once you're an adult, you'll be an adult long enough. No need to start any earlier than necessary.
Enjoy your teddy bear and tag, along with your high heels and makeup. You seem to be the rare gem who knows how to find balance in the teenage years.
Stick to your guts. I know what it feels like to just grow up so people will treat you like an adult but Einstein once said "I never think of the future. It comes soon enough." He's right.. Adulthood will come sooner than expected.
Don't think about boys, don't think about sex - enjoy your life without adding unnecessary worries to it. Live. Laugh.

Hun, your only a kid once. Live it out and don't try to be more mature to fit in! Be a kid until you really feel like you are grown-up. I think "Grown-up" is at least 13-18. When you reach 18 your grown-up. I started dating at 13, my mom didn't care. I also think you should wait until your more mature. 11 is too young to be "Grown-up" and have the feeling your "Grown-up". I'm 23 right now, and I've been wearing high heels since I was 14 and in high school. I felt "Grown-up" at 13, but didn't really grow-up until I was 14 or 15. If you really feel like your grown-up, then go ahead wear make-up be happy. I started wearing make-up when I started middle-school. So you choose. Are you grown-up? Or do you need to wait a few more years. If you need any help just e-mail me!

forget what every one else says!! it doesn't matter! you can wear heels and makeup one minute and the next want to kick it all off its a part of growing up! i do it all the time i will be wearing heels and make up and the next thing i know as soon as i walk into a gym or onto a ball feild i am kicking the heels of and doin cartweels or playin b-ball with the guys. it realy shouldnt matter what age you start dating as long as your old enough to know what to do and you parents agree and when ever you fell comfterable. and having a bf in middle school shouldnt matter! if your happy with him tell all those other people to suck you big toe and get over thereselfs and to stop tryin to live your life and live there own and then just walk off with total confidence they will soon leave you alone and they will think your grown up! but just remember to be your self and forget every one else

Growing older is mandatory. Growing up is optional and does not have to be done until and unless you are ready. Enjoy being a kid. Adult responsibilities will come soon enough. I'm 70 and still feel like a teenager when my aching old body will let me.

I know I'm going to sound like my folks (and I'm 44) but hold your horses there sweetie. One problem with today's kids is you're blasted 24/7 with adult things (ever see MTV or VH1?). Don't grow up too fast. You'll regret it later on in life. Will kids laugh? Sure, but who cares? Be yourself and don't fall into things just becasue everyone else does. You sound quite young. Ask someone in highschool this same question and they'll tell you the same thing. If they don't they're lying.

Let growing up for you happen when the time is right. Dont rush into it for the sake of fitting in. Be you. You are only young once and its a short time in your life. You are an adult forever after that. Be the age you are.

Girl just have fun live your life the way you want to... if people think your immature then there probally the ones who arn't being mature enough.. i think the age you need to start being less immature and more mature is maybe your late 15teens. people should know how to act and not to act. just don't let anyone change you....
