If you consensually talk about things with someone online who is also old enough to discuss those issues (ie not a minor) then no it's not necessarily harassment. However just because the conversations take place online, it does not preclude the finding that if you are abusive to the other person that it would not be classed as harassment. The police with the help of your ISP can track you down so not using your real name affords no protection. Cyber-bullying and harassment is a recognised criminal offence.

harassement is harassement no matter how it is done. Probably depends on where the two people are located as to wether it can be enforced by law and it may be hard to prove that it was intimidating enough for it to be a real threat especially if you are located in two different countries. The person getting harassed can always block the person or switch off the computer. Something that you cant easily do if they are standing in front of you.

well if you dont use your real name can the police find you? It could be harassment if the person you are talking to takes it as harassment, i guess... i mean if you cant talk to each other in person and you can only IM and you talk about sex or something, someone could take that as an offense... What kind of stuff are you asking about... and why are you even asking???

if it is unwelcome comments, not done on a site meant for that kind of thing it very well could be. If it is mutual flirting I don't think so. If they print it out it can be used in court as evidence. People do all kinds of things online including cyber sex, but both parties should be willing participants, if you sent sexual innuendos to someones email, instant messanger, or web page, they would probably just block you if they didn't want to see it.

Yes. If its a threat or harrassment yes. My 12 year old niece had the police show up at her door for threatening to "beat up" another little girl at school the next day over the internet.
Just because you are online dont think you are free to do as you please.

No, it's not harrassment. You can say any vile, nasty, or obscene thing that you want to online or in person. Sexual harrassment is when you exert influence over someone for sexual favors, like a boss using his position to have sex with a subordinate.

As far as online goes, the recipient has the ability to ignore/block you, so you couldn't harrass that person in any way if they didn't want you to.

That would depend on if your spouse or mom comes up behind you and sees what you're doing.
