Why go to a salon?

Go to first choice haircutters for $10.

Oil won't make your hair look worse, it'll just weigh down the tips of your hair. You can't fix split ends without getting them chopped.

If you don't cut off the split ends, the split could get even bigger and rip the hair shaft more, and split all the way up to where you'll have to end up cutting off ALL of your hair to get rid of it and have the hair grow in healthy (happened to me when I was 7).

A trim really is a good starting point for helping split ends. It'll give you a fresh start. Of course it won't fix all of them, but it'll definitely help.

As far as taming split ends goes, try to use a good conditioner. I also use a leave-in conditioner by Sunsilk. I apply it when my hair is wet and it really helps to control fly-aways. If you use a blow dryer, use it on a low setting and make sure you don't use it too close to your hair. Over using styling tools like a blow dryer or a flat iron will do a good job to fry your hair. I once had to have my hair that was down to the middle of my back cut to my ears to get rid of split ends, it was NOT pretty..but the cut helped it to look healthier.

Don't dye your hair excessively. Eat good (eathing healthy will help your hair! Foods rich in vitamin c and zinc are always good) Don't abuse your hair.

Just a few tips, hope that helps.

Yeah, getting the ends cut off is like the only way to completely get rid of split ends obviously. I think stuff like smoothing cream and frizz creams work. I haven't used oils but I've heard that they're good in moderation. Good luck!

What I recommend is if you know anyone outside of a salon that can do hair and you are able to get in touch with them and you trust them then you can maybe let them trim your ends. Other than that if your grease works miracles like that GIRL WHERE DID YOU GET IT? LOL!!!!!!
