For male/female relationships, why is it that if a girl wants attention or affection from a guy it is considered perfectly acceptable, but if a guy wants the same from a girl (and I'm not talking about physical relations here), he seems to be automatically labeled as desperate, needy, or clingy? What's wrong with a guy wanting a girl to really care about him?

IMHO, just because you're a nice person (regardless of being male or female) and want the same from the other gender, it doesn't make you desperate or needy, right?

i dont think its that way, if we females show that we want affection and i mean sometimes attention from men, men would call us flirts or easy to get, or even sometimes a booty call, except if the man he is asking for that is already his or her girlfriend, we just face the same dilemma but its in another type or sort of way

and sometimes men get the wrong notion like for example you just met the girl and you begin to say that you care and love her already at first sight, it really would seem desperate and really annoying for men to confess their love without even trying to get to know who the girl really is, for women its unusual and really rare for us to tell that we like the guy and love them immediately and that we care, it takes a lot of thinking, for me ive seen many men who confess their undying care and love for me when they only know me for about 2 hours, for women we directly tell that we like the man for his good looks, for men you sometimes see that all they ever care about is our outside appearance, they start saying i dont care who you are, i love you thats what matters, but that is not the sentence that women want to hear, we want to hear that you accept us and that you are willing to study and understand who we are

"plus women love mysterious men, men who are reserved, a gentleman, who would not scare women away by telling too much, its just in the nature of women to love men who seem to avoid them yet truly love them
