Is Lucha Libre real?

I know very little about this style. Mainly its name and I played as la mariposa in doa4. Thats it. I was wondering if this is a real style or if its as fake as american wrestling (The WWE crap)

It's scripted like WWE and TNA.

lucha libre is the mexican style of wrestling. Yes it is real. If you look at any mexican wrestling they will call it by that name.
