My husband and I are taking a trip to California at the end of March and we were trying to decide where to take a beach day. I would love to watch some surfers in person, but I didn't know if this would be a good time of year for it. Any thoughts?

I lived at the beach in Huntington Beach for several years. One interesting thing I learned about serious surfers is that they hit the waves early in the morning...and they do it very dedicatedly, 365 days per year. So, yes, you can see surfers all year long! Many of them will be in the water during the morning hours...the same time that many of the area's residents are taking their morning walks/jogs along the miles-long cement "boardwalk." which stretches along the sands.

Alas, not everyone can surf whenever they want to, so another good time to catch them is in the late afternoons, after work and/or school hours. Nevertheless, if you stroll out on the Huntington Beach pier, you'll see at least SOME surfers any time of the day.

Be sure to try to catch a glimpse of them undressing afterwards. Ha...no, I'm not being lewd! It's fascinating. Surfers manage to change out of their wetsuits modestly in public just by deftly using a towel to keep covered up. (Wetsuits must be used year round here; water temperatures are usually in the 60's.)

This sounds slightly schetchy. Are you pretending to be a surfer female on the cyber web? Are you even a female or are you some creepy dude in a basement someplace interior the mid west? Huntington is a funky place with dissimilar historic past, examine out the pier to start. Surfers are not as stereotypical because of fact the flicks portray us, although we do communicate lots approximately our final surf and what boards we are using because of fact thats something we care approximately. in all probability in simple terms act like a classic person yet point out which you heard some swell (great waves) have been coming in quickly. there is often swell coming in quickly...

There's usually a surfing contest east side of the pier being televised all summer long. You'lll see surfers all year long. However, unless there's a storm it's not likely something fascinating to watch as the Hawaiian killer waves.
