No he will not recover but there is shunt surgery to drain the fluid. My son has had this since birth, he was pre-mature and is now 16 yrs. old and is doing fine. You have to have a shunt placement or your nephew could face serious problems and even death if you let the swelling continue. oh no! my cuzin had that and the school had to send him to the ER cuz he didn't get a shunt and he felt real real real real dizzy luckily he got better but is not cured there is no cure but he takes pills, and is fine now and steals all my candy grrr.. anyways, sounds like u need to seriously hurry up and get him to a good hostpital right away ASAP!!!!!!!!!! im real serious about this!! it may result in death!!! poor kid =( i hope he feels better!! good luck!!!
