Yes, in the USAF Pilot's carry sidearms along with the rest of the crew if going into a combat situation. There are other situations more than one crew member will carry a sidearm.
Couple of falsehoods above:
Has nothing to do with being an officer or not, in fact there are some situations where only the enlisted crew members would have sidearms.
I've never been given a choice of sidearms, it is always the M-9 Barretta, in the past, before my time, it was a .38 revolver. These are not personal weapons, they are issued by Life Support before a mission.

i'm no longer able to respond to for Air stress pilots, yet in army jets i've got by no ability viewed or heard of anybody carrying a drink or snack with them. usually, the flights final under 2.0 hours and maximum each physique can get via for that long. There are no longer any bathing room centers in a army jet. you're donning too plenty "stuff" to ger unstrapped, loosened and unzipped to get at your privates all the on a similar time as sitting in a field no larger than the interior of a coffin. You difficult it out in case you forgot to take the final minute pee. Chewing gum is a cardinal no-no. you pays attention the sound of somebody chewing gum while they transmit on the radio. Very rude. Naval aviators have a tendency to be very conservative in speech and conduct while it includes decorum interior the cockpit.

Only in certain missions, such as going behind hostile territory, and so on. It's usually packed as part of survival kit on the pilot. Personal choice usually. Most prefer the standard Beretta, though some are known to pack Colt 1911s or even Snub-nose .38 revolvers.
Don't believe what you see in Stealth, though that's a nice PDW Ms. Biel was wielding. It's said that the Air Force is planning to change to PDW's, but no decision has been made yet.

Most US Military aviators carry firearms. Mostly handguns of a revolver or a 9mm variety. Not all flights require them to. But most combat air crewmen do carry firearms on the aircraft. I have personally seen load masters on cargo planes, while flying over hostile territory, carry a Beretta 92F. Depends on the situation and location.

I had to qual with M-16, M-9, M-240 and the M1911. When flying I always carried a sidearm, M1911, seven round standard stack magazine, with three extra mags. When operating in Yankee Station, we'd carry a couple of shotguns ("borrowed" from the Jarheads aboard), and my crewmen had M-16's.
In the Sandbox, my crewmen were armed with M-16A2's, one of which had a 203 attached under the barrel forward of the magazine. Each crewman had a favorite sidearm. (We were prepared for the worst.) I carried (and still do) a Kimber 1911Tactical II with three extra clips.

Not all and not always. It depends on the mission and if they are quailified on the weapon or not. I flew with a pilot that was only qualified on the M-16.

You can rest assured no matter what the mission, there is always at least one on board.
If going into a hostile area, then they are armed to the teeth.
