Stretch marks are streaks on the skin that develop when the skin thins and loses elasticity. They usually occur during periods of rapid growth (such as adolescence or pregnancy). Although no methods of preventing stretch marks are known, the good news is that there are creams available to reduce the appearance of existing stretch marks Striadril ( a quick-absorbing, bioactive topical formula). It includes a proprietary combination of skin firming agents, elasticizers, and skin hydrators. The wrinkle-reducing compound in Striadril actually makes your skin appear tighter and firmer.

I hear Strivectin-SD works really good, you can look it up on their web site www.strivectin.com
" When a person grows or gains weight really quickly (like during puberty), that person may get fine lines on the body called stretch marks. Stretch marks happen when the tissue under the skin is pulled by rapid growth or stretching. Although the skin is usually fairly elastic, when it's overstretched, the normal production of collagen (the major protein that makes up the connective tissue in your skin) is disrupted. As a result, scars called stretch marks may form."(kidshealth)

Stretch marks are made from the inside out, with the tear starting in the deeper skin tissue and then, as it widens, it tears the layers closer to the skin until they become visible on the outside.
Keeping your skin moisturized is key, but it won't prevent them. Mostly, whether or not you get stretchmarks is genetic, it can help you lessen them if you're well hydrated though.
Once you've gotten them, they'll gradually fade (though not completely) on their own, you can help them along by using something like cocoa butter (my favorite) and losing weight, if that's what caused them.
Hope that helps.
