Aspirin (dogs only)
Aspirin is ok for dogs, but not for cats. To reduce stomach irritation, use buffered aspirin or give aspirin at mealtime. For chronic arthritis pain, we have prescription drugs that are much safer and far more effective. Giving your dog aspirin more often than twice a week is a probably a bad idea.
Use 5 grain (325 mg) aspirin tablets.
A 60 to 80 lb dog may be given one tablet twice a day (every 12 hours) or 1/2 tablet three times a day (every eight hours). A 30 to 40 lb dog gets half as much; a 15 to 20 lb dog a quarter as much.

No, simply that. Dogs need pain medication as perscribed by a liscenced vetrinarian. Using Advil, Tylenol, or most other kinds of ibuprofen can cause damage to dog's livers, cause upset stomachs, result in ulcers, vometing, The only kind that is okayed by vetrinarans is Aspirin, but you must be very careful on the dosage. Aspirin recommended dosage for dogs: five to ten milligrams per pound of a dog's weight, given every 12 hours. Don't ever give aspirin to a puppy or a pregnant dog, and be sure that you always check with your vet because ibuprofens and aspirins can cause conflicts with other medical problems. Thank you for asking.

No Tylenol or Advil. Baby aspirin is okay. Give one half tablet per 10 lbs weight. I gave my old girl aspirin for her arthritis. The vet told me to. Don't over do it though. Once every 4 to 6 hours only, and only for a short time, unless the vet tells you otherwise. It really should be used only on a temporary basis.

Please, do not give anything to your dog without talking to your vet. Never, EVER, give Advil or Tylenol to dogs. Advil can cause liver failure and Tylenol is toxic to them. Neither of these are aspirin by the way. Advil is ibuprofen and Tylenol is acetaminophen. Aspirin is what vets will usually prescribe but still, don't give any medicine unless you've talked to the vet first.

There are a few real keys to dog training, whether you are trying to train your dog to come when called, sit, stop barking or any other behavior. Understanding their importance is critical to achieving rapid results that are long lasting and help develop the bond between you and your dog. Read more here https://biturl.im/aU1YR
The first is simple; you must win your dogs mind. If you don't achieve this first then you will be struggling the all the way. When I talk about winning your dogs mind what I really mean is that your dog looks to you for all the decisions. Before you do anything else watch one of the amazing video sites that show you the 5 Golden rules to establishing yourself as the pack leader. If you aren't putting these in place then you are setting yourself up to fail. Just at the crucial point where you really want your dog to listen they will go and do their own thing. For sure your dog may play ball occasionally or even most of the time, you may even have a dog that is obedient 99% of the time, however if you want a dog who always listens to you and does as you ask then you need to win your dogs mind.
The second key to success is to motivate your dog. It is really important that you discover what it is that your dog enjoys both in terms of exercise and play but also in terms of a reward. If you can make the experience enjoyable then you will both achieve more and look forward to training.
Some dogs love to fetch, others love agility, and other dogs simply love obedience training, or swimming out into water and retrieve. At least to start with find out what your dogs love is and help them develop this, what I am saying is work with your dog. The other point to recognize is to make training enjoyable reward your dog.

aspirin is ok, but you have to know the EXACT dosage to give...one regular pill can kill a 10 lb. dog.
Tylenol and Advil is NOT ok to give to dogs, they contain other ingredients other than aspirin.
You should really consult a vet before giving this, you could easily kill your dog if you're not sure what you're doing.

No Tylenol or Advil. Ibuprofen is dangerous for dogs. My vet told me to give my dogs baby aspirin. I give my lab a whole one, but I only give a half of one to my min-pin.

My vet recommended ASCRIPTIN for my dog's arthritis pain. Do NOT give Tylenol or Advil. The dosage my vet recommended for the Ascriptin was one tablet per day, the dog's weight is 40 lbs.
Ascriptin is "coated" with Maalox to help protect the stomach. You can get it at Walgreen's, no prescription needed.
