You could. But you should try using applesauce. It's much healthier and makes your cake very moist!

Yes, you can use olive oil. I do it all of the time, but if you are afraid of throwing off the taste, and still want it's health benefits, try half olive oil and half either a baking substitute (in the baking isle, it will be not as liquid as straight applesauce for recipes where you want a firmer texture) or applesauce. Some people believe that olive oil is bad for you, but my nutritionists recommended it to help keep me good shape, and it is supposed to be good for your skin.

I would not use olive oil, because of the flavor. Instead i would use vegetable oil. If you want a healthier version, use one cup of applesauce in place of the oil.

Yes, I have used it many times...and I can't taste any difference, although I'm told my cakes are moister with olive oil. I also use applesauce instead of oil in some cakes...same amount as you would use of oil, and again, no difference in the taste!

I don't know if i would want to use olive oil in place of vegetable oil. It may add a flavor that will clash badly with the sugar. I think I would stick to proven ingrediants. If you use it, let me know how it comes out.

Yes you can. But it will taste totally different. Try it once. Some people like the differnt flavor, I didn't. If you don't like it, it is worth the little sin of vegetable oil.

Yes, but use the EVOO. It has a much milder taste than regular olive oil. I've used EVOO in my cakes and cookies. They are moist and delicate and no one has ever complained of a difference in the taste.

I would not use olive oil. Although a very nice oil it is quite a strong tasting one. You could try using sunflower oil, canola oil etc.

You can, but I speak from experience when I say it WILL alter the flavor, even the extra light olive oil! The suggestion to use applesauce was a good one!
