The first time, I joined for the school money. That was the wrong reason to join. The second time around was for the right reasons; to serve my country, to make a difference, to be a role model, to give back to a country that has given me so many opportunities and advantages, to meet new people of different back grounds and nationalities, to broaden my horizons, to push myself physically and mentally, the list goes on and on

I was in the Army Reserve for 14 years and I don't think anyone joins for money! Did your recruiter tell you that there was a lot of money to be had in the Army? I joined for patriotism and to give something back to this country and all of those who served before me and that are serving after me. Yes, you need to shoot a weapon (don't call them guns, by the way) and if you really love war that much - don't let the Army know it... they do not want people that "like" to fight, they want people that "can" fight. Good Luck!

I joined the Navy to see the world,I saw a good part of it which I would not trade for nothing now. I was able to go and see places some people only dream of. We visited 8 countries in the 9 months we were deployed all over the Western Pacific

Most guys join for the action. Some to get an education,or college fund. I joined to get experance and tech training. You won't make a lot of money but you will get some good experance. If I do it again I would join the Air Force. they travel better and have better living conditions. The Army was good , but rough some times.

Well it depends on the situation the person is in at the time. Everyone joins for different reasons. I would like to think everyone joins to defend our nation. We all know that is differently one of the reasons everyone understands why we join. It is pretty obvious that benefits; whether it be college money (over $71,000), bonus (up to $40,000 for active duty), experience, change in life styles, travel, retirement, structure......you name. I am glad that you are joining the Army. If you dont mind me asking, are you still in highschool or college?

Is it complicated particular, its very complicated, exceedingly whilst little ones are interior the mixture. I disagree with making in basic terms passing friends nevertheless, I also have a buddy from a prior duty station and that i nonetheless refer to her well-known. in case you do no longer think of you could take care of the lonely nights, and your guy being long previous even whilst he's interior the states, and the longer and longer artwork days as deployment nears, then you could go away, no element in staying then working on a similar time as he's deployed. militia spouses get a bad deal, we are omitted, looked over, and looked down upon, because of the fact "all of us cheat whilst our spouses are long previous". i wouldn't in any respect replace something nevertheless, i admire my husband, and that i visit stay with, whether he's a plumber, an athlete, lively duty military, or something. it is the base line, in case you adore him sufficient to be there for him whilst he's hundreds of miles away, then you could do it. And once you have numerous little ones to guard and kin no the place close to and a deployed husband, you will choose you probably did no longer could be so independant.

I wouldn't say it's because of the money because it's not like they get paid by the hour even though they work 12 or more hours a day.
I would have to say because they know that their doing something good for their country and to see different parts of the world that they would have never thought they would see in their wildest dreams is like another adventure to them.

I am enlisting in the Army (91D - Operating Room Specialist), because I want to serve my nation.
Anyone who joins for any other reasons, should re-think their decision; for themself and our nations best interests.
