If you have short thick curly hair then it is probably already layered. If you try to cut it yourself then you may have to shave your head and start over. Don't you know someone who is in beauty school that you could go to there home or they would come to yours? I understand they are not to do that but you might could talk them into it. Just be very careful or you may have to start over with a shaved head. Good Luck

Its going to be difficult to do it your self, but it can be done...The easiest way with short hair is to Take a guide line from the top..That is take a section from the back of the crown to the front about 1/2 inch wide. Pull that section up and cut all the way to from front to back. Usually about 1/2 inch cut.. Now you have to pie section from the pivot point., which is the back at the crown.Cut in pie sections starting in the back.Find your guide, the part that has been cut and hold up a section to that first cut and cut straight accross parralel or point cut, which is nicking straight into the hair..Point cutting is better because you dont see the choppiness..Use it as a moving guide..After that is finished ,cut the perimeter, point cutting..Good luck, its going to be tough...Maybe you could practice on somebody else first..
