I have answered a few questions with my knowledge as a hairdresser and I believe the same person went and gave me a thumbs down for all of my answers... I personally think it is rude... everyone has there own opinion.. I don't think that someone should get a thumbs down unless they are outright rude or obviously wrong.

This is the internet, an ambiguous place with no filtering system when it comes to the different people involved

My motto: stupid people are everywhere and you just have to deal with it.

Because, in someone's opinion, your answer was bad. That's all. I have had some great answers and I get the thumbs down. But, I have given the thumbs down to some answers. Go into the political area, you get thumbs down all the time! It's just that someone had a different opinion than you do.

Must have been another username/profile or something? Your rating right now states that you have answered a total of one question and there was no thumbs down when I looked at it.

Sometimes people are trying to make sure that their answer will get the points for best answer ... swaying the asker's opinion or the other voters. Getting a thumbs down will sometimes aid their quest for points. Not nice, but it happens.

I know exactly what you mean. I think sometimes there must be someone online who goes through the answers that are offered and if its an actual, intelligent answer, they go through and "thumbs down" them all! I have seen that many times. They should monitor who gives what a thumbs down - then they can ban those who abuse the privilage!! (I know, I know, wishful thinking!)

Even after I have answered a question and even if I feel that I have given an excellent response, I go and read the other answers after I have answered, and often times I even vote "thumbs up" on the other answers if I feel they deserve it!!! Even if I know that it will blow my chances of getting 10 points! (Actually, its nice to get chosen best answer, but I love doing this anyway!)

Oh.... I didn't mean to write a novel - bye!

There are A LOT of losers on here. People who care waaay too much about the points and less about helping. They thumbs-down you either
a) for fun
b)they did it accidently?
c) they want your answer to look bad
Don't worry about thumbs-downs if it is only one or two. When you get six or ninety, lol, you should delete your answer.

A thumbs down means they think it was a bad answer which is all opinionated to begin with. If someone thinks you gave a bad answer, then they have every right to give you whatever rating they want.

I agree with you.I think just a bunch of kids trying to be big shots ... Just like in real life, here in cyberspace, there are just a bunch of negative people. Immaturity I would say is the main culprit... .If it's genuine bad answer or rude response then I could understand.

stop your whining, this is all for fun. I'm sorry they don't let us give thumbs down on questions anymore! This question would get one down for sure.

'cause they're just jealous of the answer a person gave and they just missed the chance of getting the best answer

Let's face it..there are miserable people out there. It has nothing to do with how good your answer is. It's them and not you!
