I'll guarantee that you have a bad ground due to rust and corrosion. It can be found but will take someone that has had experience with that situation.

Are you ready for this? All Jeep Grand Cherokees made from 1993-1997 have major electrical issues. Example: My 1996 Grand Cherokee's alarm went off at the same time every night for 2 months. If I left the battery connected the battery would be dead in the morning. The headlights flashed, the door locks would lock and unlock by themselves.
Contact your nearest dealer to see if the recall is still good.
But, I am not kidding, the ZJ Jeeps from those years mentioned are terrible. Once I got mine straight I still drive it from time to time. I love all Jeeps, and always want another. Have eight already.
GOOD LUCK!!

I have a Jeep and I had the same problem and it took a week to finally understand that it's my alternator.
fine one day and the next, Nothing!
how long has this been going on for?
cars are funny, Like they have there own attitude!
you can check one day it's fine and the next the problem is reacquiring.
I'm talking about your alternator you might need a new alternator, reading your message it states:
you had the alternator AND Brand new Battery tested!
you know it's defiantly not the battery because you just purchased a new one!
it's the alternator that need to be replace. even tho you had it tested, I believe its the alternator, because your lights go's dim.
The only two problems that makes your lights go dim are:
The Battery & The Alternator
The battery is New!
It cant be the fuse, because with a fuse it's either Working Or NOT
It cant' be a wiring problem because a wiring problem does not dim your lights, it could flicker on and off but not dim the lights.
My recommendation is to change your alternator.
Or you can to this site and find a delership near you and ask the the question?

good luck, i hope this helps.

It's call a Body Control Module and controls anything with power to it except the motor.
Do you also have problems with your power seats, mirrors, or anything else that's powered?
The PCM "Power train Control Module" operates the motor, charging, shifting "if automatic", ignition timing, and fuel injector timing. The only I can tell you if you are good with electronics and know how to use a digital multimeter and have a factory service manual "NOT a Chilton's or Hease" you might be able to fix it your self. It's mounted under the driver's seat near the center console, if you ever spilled any soda it runs down the side of the seat and into it. The best way to clean it is unplug it and carefully take it part and us DENATURED ALCOHOL to clean it, I did this to my friends Jeep and it worked fine then. Or take it to the Dealer and have them scan it, that's easier.

I back up Jeep Freak on this one. 93-97 ZJs are notorious for electrical problems. Call your local Jeep dealer and see if that recall is still good.

The deal is, your car is 11 years old. Time for a new one.
Think about this, the amount of money you are going to put into your vehicle to fix it is probably going to be the same amount as maybe a down payment of a new or slightly used car.

Because it is lacking love, you should try giving it a little extra attention. Wash it. Give it premium gas. and maybe some new tires. I guarantee it will bring your jeep back to life.
