Milk or any dairy product. Water and Mountain Dew will just spread the "heat," the capsaicin which is the active component in chili peppers. The dairy products will help neutralize it and give you relief.

Which makes eating chili peppers a great excuse for ice cream...lol! I hope you tongue has survived and that you feel better!

SALT works!!! if milk, butter, ice cream or cheese does not, Salt does. Salt even works if you are lactose intolerant. A bonus if dairy gives you an upset stomach without those little pills.

Get a piece of bread about the size of you tongue - a bit bigger. Soak it in milk. Let it sit in your mouth - lactose neutralizes the capsein (?) chemical in all hot food.

Water seems to intensify the pain. Eat plain bread and then SIP some water. This is what they taught me to do while in Baja Mexico - and it worked.

I'm surprised no one said sugar...a teaspoon really helps. or a peppermint if no sugar is around. i tried a hot sauce so hot once that i got tunnel vision and was doing circles around the kitchen in pain..a friend shoved a spoon of sugar in my mouth and took most of the burn away..
good luck!
