i am looking for a doctor in oxford in 1922 i am not sure of name but he moved to america or australia soon after 1922 he had a son called roland

If that's all the info you can provide, I'd get a private detective.....you re going back 85 years!! And you don't have a surname, which will really slow you down.

There's a large concentration of doctor's practises are in Beaumont Street in Oxford. That is where mine is. And when my dad was at Worcester College, at the end of Beaumont Street, in the early 60s, he used to lust over a beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ, which he said was owned by a doctor because it was always parked outside his practise. So it is safe to assume that doctors have been in Beaumont Street for some time.

You could start by contacting them and asking them to check their records for a doctor fitting that profile. As it is so long ago, and the doctor is almost certainly deceased, I don't think they would mind divulging information - if they have it. Go to an online directory or search engine. I just typed "doctors in Beaumont Street Oxford" and got this: see below.

You might try the electoral register for Oxford's constituencies too, though that will be painstaking too without a surname.
