Couldn't God have created other people besides Adam and Eve? Like he made them first and while they were alive, he made more people...?

I think the story of Adam and Eve is symbolic and only a parable
in nature and we should stop fighting over it and learn to get along with one another

Yes everyone are the descendants of Adam and Eve.According to the islamic teaching Adam was created by Allah the only one God from soil and Eve was created by Allah from Adam's rib bone. Before the creation of Adam,Allah spoke in the holy qur'an that Allah had created other form of human but all of them had been destroyed.
So Adam was the first human in the form like now.God does not need to create other human because from Adam and Eve grew so many people up to now although they were so many people ha
ve been died.God wanted humans to make the prosperous community ,no bloodshed and no damages. We must love and help each other.Adam and Eve at their era had so many children. The skin color of their children were white, black and brown (dark and light).Their children were handsome, beautiful and ugly. They were married among them as an emergency, beca
use at that time there is no other human. They made a separate
family and moved to a separate places. But part of them were tempted by satans so they killed among their brothers because of jealousy Their son who had an ugly wife killed his brother who had a beautiful wife..

ok i'm currently taking a class in college called "the Christian Faith" and this was the topic today..

The bible is full of symbolism, the Adam and Eve story has a symbolic meaning. First of the definition of the word ADAM means MAN or (humanity), the definition of EVE is life. Meaning that GOD didn't create Adam and Eve as individuals, for he created the Human Race on Earth. THe reason for this symbolism in the Bible, is that for the mistakes of the very first population we have to suffer today. Their search for knowledge and thruth got them excluded from eternal hapiness.( Tree of Knowlege, Garden of Eden) It was easier to use two individuals to explain what happened, that's why the Bible uses the names ADAM and EVE.

He could have done that but He didn't, according to his Word. Why would He have to? Why would He want to.

Oh, and 6B people on this planet is easy to get to in a short period of time. Just take a look at the world population 100 years ago. Growth is exponential. Just imagine if we didn't have any wars, famine or other calamities. And genetically speaking it is possible. The further we go into the curse the more problems occur. Take a close look at Abraham's family and it's roots. Islam and Christianity both believe he walked the earth. And there is lots of evidence he did. The animal world also has no problem with it even today.

The whole "Adam and Eve" thing is pretty moot, anyway, since the Great Flood wiped out all living beings except those on Noah's Ark.

So regardless of who did or didn't exist at the same time as Adam and Eve, the Bible states that everyone descended from the eight people on the Ark.

Which brings that whole "incest" question back into play...

Genesis 7

21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

He did. There is a 6th and a 8th day creation. I like your question because it shows you know there is more to God's Word than you are being taught in church. Look most churches teach a false doctrine in many areas. For instance most churches want us to belive that God cursed and kicked Adam and Eve out of the garden because they eat the wrong produce. How absoulutlt ignorant. The original sin was Eve having sex with satan. satan was trying to currupt the perfect lineage that Jesus was to come from.

Let the Bible speak:
Ge 3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living

Of course he could.

I think most Christians do not think the story of Adam and Eve is literal...there is only a certain group that do.

Most see the story as an allegory it has some literal and some symbolic meanings.

The word "Adam" means "men kind." "Eve" means "women kind."
These words are plural, not singular.
The story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden is a myth told thousands of years ago by people who wanted to explain, in a simple way, how people came to be. These ancients did not know how to read or write. Their stories were told around the fireplace as they traveled from oasis to oasis. They knew nothing about dinosaurs.
