Sometimes travel agents get some special prices... it would not be too bad to check. Plus the receive commission from the properties they sale, so they are not expecting to receive money only from you...meaning they will not be too expensive. The expensive part traveling to PR is the airfare. So where ever you are flying from check the air;lines websites (aa.com, continental.com, delta.com, spiritair.com, etc), the lowest prices are always on their websites. If the dates are flexible check special fares. I know that Spirit Airlines fly from the east coast with vary low prices. Maybe you can fly there and then take a Spirit flight to PR. Check all the options before buying a package.

Regarding hotel, there is a very small inn called Lazy Parrot (http://www.lazyparrot.com/) located in Rincon in walking distance to thee beach and it has a great reputation. It doesn't have too many rooms, which means better service. Nothing luxurious but affordable, clean, and good.

Visit www.gotopuertorico.com and click on the interactive map to your bottom left for a list of hotels in the Rincon area with pictures and info. Expensive ones... Rincon Beach Resort, Rincon of the Seas and Horned Dorset.

Check this out:
I searched fares on AA with flexible dates between april 1 through the 31. Select the fare and it will give you the dates available for that fare. Select departure and them arrival.

http://jetblue.com/traveldeals/ This one from Jet blues is $99 each way to San Juan airport (2 1/2 hrs away from Rincon) or to the one in Aguadilla (20 mins away from Rincon). See restrictions.

Rincon, California?

1. If you have a Total Rewards Card w/ Harrah's (Horseshoe, Caeser's, Bally's, etc.), or even if you don't, then I would suggest calling 1-800-HARRAHS, or going online to www.harrahs.com, and seeing what the rates are coming up for you. Not to mention, if you don't have a TR Card, you can always book the room, get a TR card, play, and see what a Casino Host can do for you as far as reducing the rates go.

2. As far as NYC goes, I would suggest staying somewhere outside the city (for cheaper rates), and then taking a cab into the city.
