Keep it simple and don't mask it's wonderful flavor:
Oven 450
Wash asparagus and trim off tough ends. Put asparagus on baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil - rub it on with your hands, or stir the spears around a bit to get them coated with oil. Salt lightly. roast until just barely tender, 8 - 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the spears.
Drizzle with lemon juice and serve immediately.

Sweetie, roasted asparagus are my absolute favorite!Simply purchase fresh asparagus(canned are mushy i never eat them, unless i have to.) and clean them normal.Place them on a cookie sheet, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, salt, and pepper to your taste.Toss to coat, make sure they are in a single layer and roast in the oven. They should be tender, not mushy. The canned you get are cooked too far, they should hold their shape, but be just tender.Yum!!!!!Good luck hun,and have a good night.

yes! Go ahead! But I agree with the earlier comment and prefer it grilled or even broiled. Either way, just spritz it with some oil and salt and pepper them beforehand. Just a couple minutes so they're still very crisp and very green! Even my kids love them like this!

If they are thick stemmed, then peel them first.
Do not season them at all. Place them in a hot oven and cook to desired temperature. As soon "AS SOON " as they come out of the oven, season them with salt and pepper, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Try grilled asparagus as well!!!!
