She tells me "aww...you are so sweet" and "you are so handsome" what does she mean?
she never said "hot" or "sexy" or "cute"
And when I told her she was really pretty, she just smiled and never complimented back, is that bad?

For the record, I am sure I have never called a guy 'hot' or 'cute ' - 'sexy' maybe, but that would be intended as a joke an possibly said to someone rather camp. I don't know what you're looking for but whatever it is, this girl isn't it, for she sounds 100% normal! Try to move your conversation on from the exchange of trite compliments and say something more meaningful before she dies of boredom.

First off most girls when you give them a compliment do not know what to say because it makes them unsure about themselves so her reaction is normal, I would not expect a compliment in return though. the you are so sweet line is like a 50/50 you know she may like you but at the same time you may have now gone into the guy friend zone and only like major intense love can make it out of there. but the whole handsome line would lead me to believe that she likes you so....... play the couch dance you know have her over for a movie and sit by her like not all up on her but not on the complete opposite side. If she likes you she will fidget a lot and switch sitting positions a lot and probably put her hand down on the couch in hopes that you make a move an hold it. also if her legs are pointing into you she likes you. as the show/movies progress' keep moving closer- make body contact!!!!! I so say go for it --- let me know how it works out. This is the best advice you will get so seriously listen to me--- I am not just a girl I* was also a social psych major

she may not really be "really pretty" and was shocked that you said that to her. Or she may be "really pretty" and didn't know how to accept a compliment. Or maybe she's just used to compliments.
But.
What's so important to you about being referred to as "hot" or "sexy" or "cute"?

Sounds like she's playing hard to get. She doesn't want to be to foward, but she does want to hint that she likes you. When you complimented her and she just smiled back, she was being modest. Sounds to me like she want's you to make the next move. She's put it out there that she digs you, but now you gotta be the man. Go ahead and ask her out.

She likes you as a friend and really appreciates the little things you do for her but if you continue to get on her good side you may wear her down and she might actually date you

to the first part it could be anything girls are wierd like that to the second part girls dont usually expect to have to return compliments but u should always return compliments if she gives them
