I was prescribed it under the name Ionamin with Pondamin - together they are the "Phen Phen" that was in the news a couple of years back for causing damage to your heart valves.

It wasn't miraculous - but it was ok. I didn't like the way I felt - so I discontinued it after a couple of months - just in time for all the lawsuits. My heart does not show damage... but I do have spells of irregular heart beats once in a while.

With a doctor's CLOSE supervision, it is known to help with obesity. I would never begin it unless you truly were dealing with obesity.
