theres not much you can do....i had the same problem and ended dating a guy in secret and it turned into a huge mess and everybody involved got hurt >< I would listen to your parents, and just stay close friends with the guy, get to know him and hopefully in a few years you will still like each other

You may think your parents don't know what they are talking about or they are being mean and unfair. Trust me. They know better. Take your time and be a kid, enjoy things. Once you start dating it becomes nightmarish and at a young age the troubles of it is only worse. I'm 25. I had my first boyfriend at 14 (just holding hands/kissing ONLY). If I could go back I probably wouldn't have had my first boyfirned untill the age of 17 or 18! Mom and dad know what's best for you and tell you things for your best interest (even if it's not what you want to hear). Don't lose your childhood. Just be friends with this boy, perhaps you'll find that he's not what your looking for or you may find later on in life (when your in high school!) he's just the right one. You both have alot of growing up and changes to go through yet, the hardest parts of your young lives are ahead of you (puberty that can be a challenge!) and people change greatly over a short matter of time (especially between 10 and 18). You'll understand when you get ther.
Good luck. I really think friends is the best way to go.

Ok you said not nine. Well it depends on how old you are. Also, it depends on the age yur parents set for you. Each household is different. My daughter will not be able to date until she is 16 or 17 years old. But only after I meet the little boy and his parents. And on most of those occasion that date will be a group date. Don't rush sweety. Boys aren't going anywhere. Take ur time.

Social studies.. I assume you're in JHS. If that's true, parents do have a point when they say you're too young and they don't want you to start dating. You will be under emotional stress from relationships. I guess it's alright to casually "date". But do not get into it too seriously. Do not let this hurt your grades.

Love is never too young or too old, if you start denying love now you'll end up a denial...let love move into your veins, its a beautiful thing!
But you need to put a certain border between both of you and remind him you are still young!
by doing that, you pleased your heart and you did allow your self to respect your family opinion!

go to the movies with a group of friends then tell him to meet you there. you probably should just be in public places with him since you are young. i dont see anything wrong with something like hanging around the mall with a boy when your young.

Your parents are right. I know it's probably annoying, but trust me- they only want what is best for you. You will grow up in due time and be more emotionally mature and better equipped to start dating.

You must be 10 then. Just wait. You're way too young to date.
