I like canon powershot SD600 and the HP photosmart R927...I am replacing my cheap polaroid IZONE 300 next friday probably. here are some of the likes and dislikes...tell me which one I should choose.

HP-

like:
huge 3 inch screen
fun features like slimming ( I am not fat but am very petite)
it is compact but not too tiny making buttons to my desire
sleek and sexy look
metal chassy

dislikes:
bad in low light( but can deal with it due to adaptive lighting ft.)
not completely tiny
movie button seems small
photo quality "decent"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Canon-
teensy tiny
metal chassy
beautiful layout and buttons
location of zoom switch
23 features (I think)
"excellent" picture quality
color swap feature
lots of personalization features

dislikes:
2.5 in screen, and not 3
buttons seem small but still sexy
seems to break easily

Please give me a full detail of why to pick which one...plus in my town, they are both at STAPLES which means that HP is 219 and Canon is 250 plus tax though that really puts me out :(

*\O/* (sorry just wanted to try that)

We have the Canon SD600 and love it. I wouldn't buy a computer from Canon and I won't buy a camera from HP.

You can get the SD600 for around $220 on amazon.com. If you really want the 3" LCD, get the SD630 which is, basically, the same camera with a larger LCD. You can get it for around $250.

I've had/have 4 cameras, including a dSLR, all canon and haven't had any problems.

Keep in mind Canon's new line is coming out soon, so, the prices on older cameras will drop.

umm...well I don't know much about cameras but every time I ask for recommendation, people recomend canon cuz they do produce nice pictures. I've had two digital camera so far and they both are canon. I really suck at taking pictures and every time I take pictures, it's little fuzzy due to movement during the shot. But my dc lets me take pictures without fuzziness. I even take pictures as I walk past. It comes out great. You should draw a small table with lables of Hp and Canon. Then list all the features or things that you really need or want. Fill in the boxes with info. give scores for each category. For instance, for the design, you might want to give 1 for HP and 0 for Canon. Add up all the points and find what you want. Good luck!

Well, I usually think that this is a no brainer but if you want the bells and whistles get the HP. If you want picture quality then the SD600 is for you. I personally own the camera and its a pretty darn good pocket camera. Its smaller and sleeker than my SD700IS, and its just enough MPs for general useage. I mean there are better SD cameras out now but the Sd600 sure shines for the price its at. HP is just there for the money and not quality. Compare pictures some time and youll notice the Sd600 thats better pictures than the HP cameras.

Get the canon, it is a better name when it comes to photography. Also what it all really comes down to, is how the picture turns out, not how easy it was to take the picture or how big the display is. whenever I see a comparison of an HP camera vs. anything in a magazine, the HP is worse.

based on your data, canon makes more advantageous to your choices.

note : don't look for the screen display. this will not matter. screen display is different form actual image from pc and of course in actual print.
