Jesus spoke this in a parable, because that is what the prevailing paganistic beliefs were of the that time. Hell and it's concept are cast into the lake of fire.
The remains of the wicked are reduced to ashes with a day and night one turn of the globe.
It is not an eternity in heaven with loved ones who messed up living eternally right next door slow roasting in a pit of fire.
That is a perverted version of the scriptures.
Hear the end of the scriptures and find peace.
REV 21V
4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

You have to understand that the scene depicted in Luke 16:19-31 is a scene in Hades, or Sheol, where all who died were confined until the coming of Christ. Some were in a place of torment, where they remain to this day; but some, like Lazarus, were in "Abraham's bosom", which was a place of comfort and a place of waiting for the appearance of the Messiah, or Christ. When Jesus died, it says He was "made alive in spirit, in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison..." that is, in Hades or Sheol; (I Peter 3:18,19; see also 4:5,6). He then took these with Him when He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, as it says in Ephesians 4:8-10 "Therefore it says "When He ascended on high, He led captive a host of captives, and He gave gifts to men." (Now this expression 'He ascended', what does it mean except He also descended into the lower parts of the earth? (Hades) He who descended is Himself also He that ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things."
So Hades is not now in view of those who are in heaven.

That is a really good question. I doubt we will see Hell. Lazarus and the rich man were in a place called Abraham's bosom. I am not sure we will go there. But no one knows for sure Biblically.

christianity wise?
ehh, after 2 or 3 eons you'll forget they ever existed. I know that's not very comforting, but how else could it be, considering the way heaven is presented.
Perhaps everyone who goes to heaven gets their own personal paradise with all their friends and family?

No it won't be like that at all.
Heaven is a wonderful place, where eveyone is like family. We will be united with loved ones who have gone before us.
There are no tears and no sadness in heaven.
Revelation 7:17
For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
I do not believe we will remember painful things from earth, for that would take away from our joy.

There is no hell. Read the bible if you don't believe me. The bible says nothing about seeing our family in heaven. It says that God will establish a new heaven on earth and raise the dead. Reread your bible, or follow the link below.

If I went to heaven and didn't find my mother there, I would be very sad.
Heaven is not a place of sadness.
So looking on the burning bodies is not something I am going to enjoy.
I don't think I'll be looking for that.
If they are there they are there, not for my enjoyment.

no I don't think so....however, knowing that the wicked will be there is great motivation to give them the good news of jesus Christ NOW.
"He that believes on me has everlasting life".- Jesus.. (Jn. 6:47)

In Heaven we will be in our spiritual bodies, incorruptable, where no sin exists. God cannot look upon sin. All who are not saved will be thrown into the lake of fire.
