Neither asthma nor allergic rhinitis are contagious diseases, or infections that someone can "catch." However these are both very common conditions, and allergens such as dust/dust mites are fairly common triggers of allergies. If you and your children are having similar symptoms, it is generally more likely that you have allergies as well. You may want to discuss with your doctor/your childrens' doctor whether or not your symptoms are consistent with allergies/asthma, and whether you might benefit from treatment of this.
