Yahoo has reported that a lot of features do not work in WIndows Vista even if you have the newest version. Yahoo is currently developing a beta version of Yahoo messenger for Windows Vista that will have all of the features. There may be some way to get the sound and mic working, but it might be impossible. You can go to messenger.yahoo.com to signup for the beta.

you have bought Vista call Vista go to vista support website and ask there they will or should walk you through it
