Because many Christians have the same amount of English education as they do science education.

A lot of people mis-spell the word "atheist," not just because they are Christians, but because of the wording. I think a lot of people mistake it because they always think of that rhyme "'I' before 'E' except after 'C'..." and forget everything else they learned about grammer in English class at high school.

Because some can't spell! OR know how to use the check spelling button above the box when typing an answer.

Hmmm. It goes deeper than a simple inability to spell.

It has to do with lack of any rational capability to think, since 'atheist' means 'person against theology' so it couldn't be 'athiest' because that would mean 'tallest person against thinness' or something similar.

It's not easy for believers to make sense of the real world; I don't envy them.

Lack of basic education.

A great many also fail to capitalise Jesus and Bible.

Also, their minds are usually focused on the sins of other people (they have already been forgiven for their own) - especially gay sex, which some of them think about non-stop.

Sad, isn't it?

Usually for one of three reasons:
#1--It's an honest typo.
#2--They're bad spellers and too lazy to use the "Check Spelling" button.
#3--They're trying to piss atheists off. (Though it's just childish to do that, so it doesn't really piss anyone off all that much.)

Haha! I've also noticed that a bunch of us can't spell Christian, either. Now THAT'S sad.

Because most of us can't spell or don't sue the "check spelling" box. Me? I prefer to spell a word correctly.

Anything else about us you care to complain about?

Why do people get all bent out of shape with a little mispelled word??

IT'S NOT THAT SERIOUS!

That's far from the only word they frequently misspell.
