The Toyota Tacoma is an awesome, smaller truck...... they are a little more expensive, but totally worth it! :) Good luck!

I have had a lot of Ford Rangers (same as Mazda) and Chev S-10s. I believe that Ford makes a better truck for a lot of reasons. Try to find a used one with 4 cylinder that is about 3-4 years old.

Anything but a Chevy s-10 ,anything period. I'm not biased but a Ford ranger or a Toyota would be ideal.

I have had really good luck with Toyota and with Honda. I put 300,000 miles on my Toyota before I sold it - as long as you keep it tuned up, you won't have any problems. All I ever did was general maint. work - brake shoes, and tires, (just what you'd expect for that kind of miles) I refinanced it 3 times to put myself thru school.
