It is called euthenasia and it is very simple and painless these days. Even PETA does it to hundreds of thousands of animals every year!

NOT AMMONIA!!

Ammonia leaves a smell similar to the urine, so while it might replace the smell temporarily it can encourage them to come back & use that spot again.

Use white vinegar, diluted in half by water, it also works great on carpets and any place that a cat might have an accident.

You can use a hose end sprayer & just filll with the vinegar & then hold your thumb over the dilution control hole and it will be easier to spray the areas you can't reach by using another method.

Look for a feral cat rescue group in your area or ask the Humane Society if there is one. They will usually trap the cats and get them spayed/neutered and release them in a different area if possible.

Then you do need to do something around your deck to keep new cats from moving in. Netting is a possible solution but there are others, you could use that lattuce work & it will look decorative as well.

Good luck and thank you for looking for a non violent alternative!

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing!

Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

You can get this plant that smells like a skunk! It really works and people can only smell it really good if they are like right next to it so no need to worry that your house will stink up. We used to have a ton of dogs pee on our mailbox and then we got that plant and they stopped! You can probably find it at a nearby Lowes or Home Depot or you can order one online. Another option would be to install a fence or lattice wich we did under our decks and that works too. Hope I helped!

"muddbuts"....is wayyy off base here.... they dont euthenize just 'because' of that reason. If you want no more kitties under your deck, block off any openings that there might be.....and / or install some lattuce (wooden fencing) around the bottom of your deck. That'll keep them from being able to get under there. For the smell that is already there...... you can try spraying the amonia around, but 'naturally' (from nature), that smell will fade with time.

Try putting moth balls under your deck. They don't care for the smell. As to the smell of the cat urine, when the weather gets good, spray it down with vinegar, and then hose it down after some time it will dissipate.

Maybe put plastic down and the cats wont use it as a litter area but can still use it as a place to get out of the cold weather.

I have just the solution. This works also for skunks. And since cats are WAY more sensitive to smells than skunks, this will work:

Buy mothballs at the store. Any grocery store. They are little white balls that reak. But if they are outside you won't be able to smell them. Just around them they stink. The cats will scram. We had a skunk in our garage who hated the mothballs.

Maybe well Hmmmmm that is hard. maybe try to put vinegar in a glass jar screw a lid on poke holes in it. Bury it but keep the lid up so it will produce the smell and be sure to bury it so they can't dig it up. This might make them think that there is another animal there.

borrow or rent humane traps from your local animal control or humane society. set the traps with some stinky canned food. Check the traps often. As you catch the cats deliver them to animal control/humane society and borrow the trap and do it over again. It's the most humane thing you can do for the cats.. and it's better than shewing them away to scavenge trash in your neighborhood.... only to be shot by someone, eaten by a dog or starve to death.

Cats hate the smell of banana peels, oranges, lemons, limes, pomellos, & grapefruit. Throw all of your banana peels & citris rinds under the deck. You'll also have to try & shovel out the poop & wet dirt (if you can) so it doesn't smell like an okey place to potty. Another option is to hose off the area. Kitties hate getting their paws wet.
