The old way: NY drinking age was 18. Massachusetts age was 19. In 1984 the Federal govt passed the 21 minimum age law and threatened to withhold highway building funds from states that didnt comply. While no state allows purchase by under 21, many states currently allow consumption for several reasons inclusing when accompanied by a parent or guardian over 21 and for religious reasons.

You can drink in most of Canada without parents at age 18 or 19 depending with providence. I don't know of any in USA, that's why my friend and I went to Canada to drink underage.

Well, if you are on a cruise you can drink at 16 since you are in international waters. I know in South Carolina, you can go on a Casino boat and gamble and drink at 18.

I have never heard this, and it doesn't sound correct. I'm 99% sure that all 50 states require you to be 21, regardless of who you're with when drinking.

I live in Wisconsin. You can drink in grade school in a bar legally if you are with your parents. A lot of people might get upset that a kid is drinking, but it is legal.
