the rumbling starts when I turn on the heat or the ac. it only stops when i put the ac or heat to the highest setting. when its on the lower settings the rumbling can be heard and the lower the setting the more rumbling. can anyone help. mechanics in brooklyn want $500 to just open the dashboard and find out what the problem is. thank you.~john

Im leaning more towards the 'mouse nest' theory since the blower fan seems to be functioning {all 5 fan settings are running, its just rumbling}. hummm i guess i will have to open up the dash and take a look either way since the fan is inside there too. wish me luck.

Oh, and thanks for the stupid advice {dont turn it on}. very original.

The blower fan for the heat and AC has become unbalanced. Its either cracked or has a mouse nest in it.
Its about a 1 hour job to remove and replace the fan
