Wait at least 2 weeks before changing jewelry (only if it needs to be downsized) Idealy, wait a month. Make sure you're using high quality jewelry, and remember no acrylic or organics in fresh piercings

You are not supposed to change the jewelry of a healing cartilage piercing. Wait until its completely healed which is an average of 6 months but can be up to a year. I suggest changing it no sooner than 4 months, but put it off if you can.

If you MUST change the jewelry, I strongly suggest that you have a professional piercer do it for you.

Note: nostril piercings and tongue are very different than tragus piercings and other ear cartilage area. Cartilage usually has a low blood flow which makes it slow healing and temperamental.

dont change it for at LEAST 2months.. you run a really high risk of infecting it. also, if its a ring, you need a piercer to do it for you anyway because they have special tools to open and close them (you dont want to try this yourself - you'll most likely rip the hole)
