i have a crown and ive had it for about 5 years after i had an accident and lost one of my front teeth. my crown is supier glued in (not really but the strongest glue the dentists have) so taking it out would hurt because the root is under the crown. anyways i have a brown, yellow stain thats on the tooth and i want to find a way to remove it without going to the dentist.

Crowns are porcelain fused to metal, the porcelain is glass. Go have a cleaning done at the dentist, they can remove any stains on it without removing it. Also, crowns do not whiten or bleach since they are porcelain, they stay the shade they were made.

OK, a temp crown only needs to be on while the permanent one is being processed at the lab which usually takes1 to 2 weeks. So you should just hold off until the appointment for the cementation rather than taking the temp on and off. You can cause a lot of sensitivity doing that and they would probably have to make you a new temp to get the stain out, the temps sometimes break when we remove them. The stain your seeing is probably cement showing through the temp crown so it will still show through even if they do polish it. Good luck!

Don't waste your time and money on things over the counter to remove stains and make that tooth white again. I did all that and it was a waste of time and money and quite disappointing as well. I ended up visiting my dentist and they buffed my tooth until it was beautifully white again! Don't be scared either as I was because you'll find that it is very minor work and you should not need any numbing agents unless your teeth are sensitive.

Go to your dentist and have him/her remove the crown and replace it with a new one. (It won't hurt as local anesthesia will be used.) Otherwise, there is no way to remove a stain from within the porcelain of the crown.

Can't. No amount of whitening, etc., will work on a crown.
