yes. we learn about this in school. they will not only loose their fiber but also their nutritionous value and supplement.good question actually. and when you do bowl them, make sure you don't bowl them for too long because they loose fiber that way also.

In my study of nutrition I learned that there is nothing you can do to destroy or loss fiber in any thing. You can burn the crap out of it cut it up or puree it to a liquid and the fiber will still be there. So microwave all you like.

No, cooking vegetables in any manner will not cause them to lose fiber. Microwaving is one of the best ways to cook veggies however, they tend to lose less of their nutrients than boiling them.

I do this almost all the time I am cooking veggies. I have a microwave steamer that i steam my veggies in . I season lightly with lemon pepper and micro until crisp tender. All the good stuff is left in.Fiber, vitamins etc are saved as long as you dont boil them to death :)

microwaving anything will efffect the nutritional value, but I don't know that that includes fiber. Raw is generally the best way to eat most vegies.
