It sounds like tape worms...do they sort of look like a grain of rice & undulate to move around?

Tape worms are common & usually if your pet has fleas, they will have tapes. The flea ingests the tape worm eggs and as the pet either cleans or chews itself it will ingest a flea/egg here & there so the cure is actually 2 fold, control the fleas, control the tapeworms.

It is much better to go to the vet & get the shot that covers several types of worms at once & you don't have to starve them first as well as worrying about them vomiting up a pill when out of your site. Most of the over the counter stuff has no guarantee and you don't know if it is strong enough to do the job...trust the vet on this one!

Tapes can make your pet eat a LOT and still be very thin, the pet isn't getting all the nutrition from their food b/c the worms are eating it.

I googled a website for you so you can get more information.

to be a little more specific it is more than likely tape worms which in fact can infest humans as well. the cat probably was infected by them by cleaning itself while it had fleas. though it is a great idea to go to the vet to confirm the diagnosis, pet smart or other well stocked pets only type stores have the meds to take care of the problem. but remember this, the kitty can be re-infested at any time so it is a good idea to keep the cat free from fleas. good luck.

Those are worms or tapeworm segments. Your kitty needs to be dewormed but you need to find out what type of worms he has so you can get the proper dewormer. The vet is your best bet!

I agree with HobbesMom, it probably is worms. Take your cat to the VET TODAY, if you haven't already.
