Islam and Christianity revere Mary above all other women, a human divinely appointed to bear Jesus in a virgin birth. But the Koran mentions Mary 34 times, and names an entire chapter after her -- more than she gets in the Bible, according to Cruden's Complete Concordance. She is the only woman mentioned by name in the Koran, and some scholars say Muslims actually revere her more than Christians do.

If people are ignorant of Islam, it is because they choose to be. No amount of information will affect their lack of interest.
Let us constantly strengthen our faith, certitude, and determination. We must unite and live as one race, accepting that there is one God and praying together as one family in one gathering. This is the wealth of Iman-Islam. God sent this gift to each of the prophets and finally gave it in completeness to Muhammad. The fundamental explanations of perfect faith were resonated to God's messengers, and they in turn shared them with mankind in the scriptures, in the traditions of the Prophet,9 and in the Qur'an. There are very deep meanings to be found in these.

Mary was the greatest woman to ever live. But she did not give birth to the son of God.
And she is not someone to be worshipped like many Catholics do. All these false idols of her are disgusting.
There is no God but God. Worship him alone!

You are right. The names Mary and Jesus do appear in the Koran. That is not surprising because the Koran was written centuries after the Bible. There is still a major conflict between Christianity and Islam because Jesus is the Son of God in the Bible, and He is not the Son of God in the Koran. Everything in the New Testament of the Bible is about worshiping Jesus Christ, or the Son of God. Just because the name Mary appears in the Koran doesn't make any difference to Christians.

The link between Islam and Christianity is the God. The differences come about from deviating from the God's commandments. Some times people forget that Allah (SWT) created humans to WORSHIP HIM. The Qur'an is the Criterion of other religious books and it acknowledges that each "group" has their own religious rites. Muslims love all Prophets. Jesus (PBUH) is shown as stating in the Bible that his mission was not complete. Muhammad (SAW) was given a message that is complete. This not to debate but to point out that humans sometimes miss the essence of what Allah (SWT) wants us to do.

You are absolutely correct. My belief is Islam and Jesus is mentioned in the Quran as well as Mary. However, we believe Jesus as only a prophet and not the son of God. We also believe Mary was a virgin as Christians do.

The Koran (or Quran) mentions Mary more than The Bible because the Catholic Church thought women to be subservant to men, while Muslims believe females are too sacred to reveal their bodies. Also, both are "spin-off" religions from Judaism.

You will also find that the Koran mentions Jesus Christ and does call him a prophet and a teacher, but not the messiah nor do they accept the fact that he is the son of God.

Did you only find that link? These religions came from the same land atleast closely linked up. Both have abraham in them. Islamic texts depict Judaism and Christianity as prophetic successor traditions to the teachings of Abraham. So there is more link than not between these religions.

In written form, you are correct. But from the Catholic Christian point of view, Mary is the Mother of god, in that she gave birth to Jesus Christ. In the Koran, the belief is that Jesus is only a prophet.
Your question helps to illustrate the importance of Tradition as well as scripture. There is a lot about Christianity that simply isn't written a whole lot in the Bible, with just bare references. I believe that a 'sola scriptura' form of belief dilutes the Christian religion.

So? The koran is way bigger than the bible and more recent. Also, this isnt the only link. Islam considers itself the continuation of Christianity and Jusiasm. There are alot of links really...

I'm not certain that is true of all varieties of christianity, but it is of most major branches. The problem with Islam is that it is a hash of christianity and judaism, as they were understood through word of mouth in 7th century Arabia. If the name of Mary was running through the desert, it got into the Quran.
