Fresh, easy, delicious, home cooked things!
In the morning ... In a pan, brown a portion of ground beef, onion, carrot, salt and pepper. Drain and put the mixture into the slow cooker. Add a can of beef broth and enough water to almost cover the ingredients then add a can of green beans. Cover and cook on low all day.
You can adapt this recipe many ways.
use chicken and chicken broth instead
add cumin and cilantro for a Mexican flavor, top with tortilla chips.
use the chicken and add some soy sauce, red pepper flakes, switch the green beans with bean sprouts and you have Chinese.
All taste great!
A quick and really good stove top recipe;
In a frying pan brown slices of chicken breast in oil or butter, salt and pepper, garlic if you have it. When it cools add it to a Caesar salad (pre-packaged). Healthy and delicious.
I could go on and on.
Hope this helps!

Pick up a George Foreman-like grill for $15 bucks at Wal-Mart, buy some nicer thicker bread from the bakery at the supermarket, get some things like cheese and meat and roasted red peppers from a jar (need to be sliced), pickles, whatever, and make sandwiches, then butter the outer sides of the bread and grill them until the cheese melts. Instant panini sandwiches, and he can experiment with all flavors of sandwiches. For some reason, although some guys are mystified by cooking, they invariably love constructing sandwiches. Grilling them adds the cooking/heating element that on a nice piece of bread really comes off well. Good luck!

This is one of our favorite crock pot recipes and is sooo easy and really good. These are the portions for my family, but your husband could easily cut it in half.
Mexican Meat
3 lbs extra lean stew meat
1 can cream of celery soup
1 sm can chopped ortega chilis
Place stew meat in bottom of crock pot and cover with soup and chilis. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Right before serving use a hand help potato masher and mash and twist at the same time and this will shred the meat.
This meat is awesome in burritoes with refried beans, or use as the meat in tacos.

I've recently learned a great pot roast recipe for the crock pot.
Beef roast, any weight, I used 2 1/2lbs
Favorite veges (potatoes, carrots, celery)
Mcormick pot roast seasoning.
Layer roast and veges in slow cooker, mix seasoning according to package directions, pour over meat and veges. Cook 8-10 hours on low or 4-6 hours on high. Meat comes out super tender and makes great leftovers for days.
Also, you can pick up a slow cooker cookbook at any bookstore. They contain tons of great recipes for slow cookers. Anything for drinks, meals, and desserts.
If pot roast isn't his thing, for a super quick meal, there's always the freezer veges in a bag, mixed with noodles for a nice quick stir fry or soup. Ramen noodles are great meals in a fix.
