i am from maryland where 35% is the law... i would like to take my car around.. yet area states like PA, NY, NJ, VA are strict and ask that titns be 50% or lighter... other than 'just dont tint it', what tint would you all suggest?

In Oklahoma, our tint law is also 35%. However, we travel, and we move every 13 weeks - state to state. I have only had 1 officer say anything about my tint - and that was in California...apparently you are not supposed to tint the front windows.

Anyway, my tint is 20%, and since I had an Oklahoma tag, and we were just "visiting" he did not give me a ticket. He just informed me of the law, and told me if we moved there we would need to conform...blah, blah...

Good question... because different states have different regulations on tints. In my state, you can get a ticket for any tint that can not be seen through; but, in Florida the tint is very dark.

My answer is no tint at all if you are driving through the USA.

IMHO I would say that if your window tint is legal in the state that it is registered, then traveling to another state where it isn't should not be a problem...after all you would be just visiting. Good luck!

Avoid the dim tint so that you can have a good view of the places you will visit.
