Don't tell me it's the same or I'll report you for stupidity.

Obviously it's not the exact same. Cannot be. So what are the big differences?

If I may be precise, when you say "present day Christianity", you might wish to opt for the term 'Christendom'.
There is a vast difference between christendom and the Christianity of Jesus' time.
Christendom teaches the immortality of the soul, hell-fire, trinity.......all lies!
Jesus never taught these concepts.

That depends on where you are. The Chinese home church movement, which some estimate to exceed 100 million members, are a primitive, no frills down home group of people that take God literally at His word, see miracles and come to expect them as normal Christian experience, and have in many cases lost everything, even their lives, for the privilege of being called servants of the Living God.
If you are talking about the Western Church, it has become such a chimera that it would be impossible to characterize it. The image that comes to mind is a 5 year old boy wearing his father's suit coat. There's a real boy there, but its hard to find him for all the clothes.

In Jesus' time
it was true
because nothing about it has been changed.

God sent Moses (pbuh)
then the people went astray

Then He sent Jesus (pbuh)
then his people went astray

Then He sent Muhammad (pbuh)
and God said this would be the last prophet.

So really all three religions are the same.
If Christianity and Judaism havent been changed
(which Christians and Jews do say that that happened)
then there wouldn't be as much fighting.

God Bless

Some of the differences as I understand them... They didn't have a church building on every corner... Wait I don't think they had a church building at all. Doubt they met on "the Lord's day" Sunday. Don't think the leaders got paid. Maybe the traveling ones but not the ones that didn't travel. Hmm anything else? I have a book around here somewhere about this...

There WAS NONE in "Jesus' time." Christianity began with the first preaching of the Gospel message on Pentecost as recorded for us in Acts 2.

During the apostles' time, they were around, inspired by the Holy Spirit, along with those who had received the gifts by the laying on of the apostles' hands... there were teachers gifted by God to preach and teach the message. We have their collected writings which give us glimpses into their message and life. SOME churches are still trying to be that church, but many have adopted human creeds instead of the scriptures and departed from that original message.

ONLY To the extent that our teaching complies with the New Testament pattern, we can claim to be part of that New Testament church. If the message is distorted, then there is some difference.

Jesus himself was a Jewish Rabbi. He practiced all the Jewish feasts and holidays. When the gentiles came in to Christianity I don't think they practiced the same Jewish traditions. However, I know that the first congregations were Jewish and there is no indication they did not practice the same Jewish traditions that Christ did.I could be wrong, but this is my understanding.

Tradition and cultural practices have joined the church.

Most of these things like the altar, candles, baptismal font, music/organ, stained glass, the church building, etc. are not wrongful and often enhance the experience of worshiping the Lord but some people become distracted from God by these things.

It is exactly the same. Nothing has changed in the least.

As you read the gosepls and Acts you will find that the disciples and apostles all lived together and gave away their possessions. They shared everything equally. Most of them still considered themselves Jewish. They believed in equality and ...

... hmmm.

Wait a minute.

Come to think of it, things have changed a little.

Present day Christianity is watered down, weak, politically correct, and has lost it's focus. Old time Christianity had a "burning desire" to serve Christ.

There was no Christianity during Jesus's time on earth. Jesus along with the Apostles were all Jewish.
