This is somewhat coincidental, but I just treated a young woman in the Emergency Room a few days ago with the same problem. She, too, had used a L'oreal hair dye, and woke up the following morning with a very itchy rash across her scalp, hairline, and the tops of her ears. This is most likely a contact dermatitis (allergic reaction in the skin). If you have been scratching it frequently, however it can also become infected, a condition called impetigo. The dermatitis can be treated by Benadryl, however if severe may require steroids to reduce the inflammatory reaction more quickly. Steroids can be given orally or topically (as in a cream/ointment), and if the inflammation is severe enough, both may be required. If there is any secondary infection, antibiotics may be required. If you are having severe inflammation, it is best to see your doctor, or go to the ER for treatment.

I take it you havent used this product before. Next time do a test first to find out if you will have an allergic reaction - the directions tell you exactly how to do that.
Sorry I'm not sure exactly what you need to do, if you still have the directions/box it will say on that. You probably want to go to a doctor, they can give you steriods or something to knock the swelling down until the reaction goes away. I don't know if you might need to get your hair stripped as well.

You need to see a doctor or go to an Urgent Care clinic now. It sounds as though you are having a severe allergic reaction and could need steroids. If you have Benadryl, take 50 mgm orally and get to a doc. You can suffer kidney problems and other complications with severe allergic reactions, so this is nothing to mess around with.

Go rinse your hair very, very well.
Shampoo to remove any excess, & rinse very well.
You should take some Benadryl for the allergic reaction you're experiencing.
Also, take the receipt back to the store where you bought it & get a refund. Call the 800 number on the box, too...& ask them what's up.

You are having a bad allergic reaction to the hair dye. I would suggest that you take a double dose of Benadryl or Claritin or if you have a walk-in clinic, go there at once. If your body keeps responding to the dye, it could cause you breathing or swallowing problems.

Sounds like you are allergic to the hair dye. There should be an 800 number on the box to call. Call them and ask for their advice. They know what is all in their product and how to deal with situations like yours.
